When is check-in?
You can check in to your vacation home on the day of arrival between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. If the apartment/room/chalet is available earlier, you are welcome to check in earlier. If you arrive later, the room cards will be left at reception desk!
When is check-out?
On the day of departure, we ask that you check out by 10 a.m. If the apartment/room remains free on the day of departure, those who have booked directly with us are welcome to use it during the day until 2 p.m. free of charge. For guests who have booked through various internet platforms such as booking.com, a late check-out is possible for an additional charge starting at € 50.
How far is it to the ski slopes?
The Montana is located directly on the Holzalm ski slope. From bed to the skis, so to speak.
What types of meals can I book?
- Self-catering in the apartments or chalets
- Bread roll service in winter (daily order of fresh bread and pastries – except Sundays and public holidays)
- Breakfast buffet in winter from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the pine lounge in Appart Montana for an additional charge of € 20 per person (from 13 years), € 15 per child (6 to 12 years) and € 8 per toddler (3 to 5 years)
During the winter months you can also eat à la carte at the Montana Alm, open daily from 3 p.m. Closed on Tuesdays
Can I change my type of meal plan?
Yes! We allow you to be flexible, and you have until the evening before to decide on breakfast.
Is there a wellness area?
At the Montana, there is a small wellness area with a hot tub, 2 Finnish saunas, a steam bath and an infrared cabin, as well as a relaxation room and fitness area. Use is free for guests of the chalets and guests in the Montana apartments. Use of the wellness area and hot tubs in the sauna area is for those aged 16 and older.
Where can I park my car?
There are enough free parking spaces for your car directly in front of the house. For an additional charge of € 15 per day, you can also park your car in the underground garage.
What shopping options are there nearby?
There are no supermarkets or shops in Hochfügen. At the Montana we have a small kiosk for toiletries and a vending machine for drinks and sweets. There are supermarkets and sports shops in Fügen (about 20 minutes by car from the Montana in Hochfügen). We recommend doing your bulk shopping before you arrive!
Where can I book skiing lessons or rent skiing equipment?
We recommend booking skiing or snowboarding lessons, a trained ski guide, and all skiing equipment or equipment for winter and snowshoe hikes from our partner Skischule/Skiverleih Kostenzer (300 m from the Montana):
What can I do if I'm not in the mood for skiing or snowboarding?
- Cross-country skiing on the high-altitude cross-country ski trail
- Tobogganing on the floodlit toboggan run with guaranteed snow
- Winter or snowshoe hikes right outside the front door
- Chilling on the comfortable loungers in front of the Alm
Can I bring my dog?
Yes, upon request and only with advance reservation. For an additional charge of € 25 per day (not including food), you can bring your four-legged friend. Max. 2 dogs per unit (deposit: € 200 per dog).
Do I need snow chains?
Hochfügen is located at an altitude of 1,500 m, and snow chains may be required in the winter months. So if you don't have a four-wheel drive car, you should definitely have snow chains with you!
Can I drive directly up to the front door?
Yes, from the town entrance of Hochfügen, a road leads ca. 300 m right to the front door. There are free parking spaces around the house, or you can use our underground garage for € 15 per day. By the way, we also have a charging station for electric cars in the garage!
