Anyone who has ever met him immediately can see that Christian Maelzer is passionate and enthusiastic host! Together with his wife Birgit and their great team, he has been running the Montana since 2012.

Christian Maelzer has been closely connected to the hotel since 1994. With passion, determination, and a clear vision, he carefully planned and implemented the latest renovations. The well-being of the guests always comes first for him.

Christian's mother is Austrian, and his father is a German living in Austria. It was his father who built the first apartments in 1994 and the Montana Alm in Hochfügen in 1997.

"I worked in the business for five years until I was overcome by wanderlust," smiles Christian Maelzer. From 2002 to 2012, he gained valuable experience in various hotels around the world, while his sister Verena managed the hotel during this time.

A great team

Christian has been the host at the Montana since 2012 and together with his wife Birgit since 2014. "We are a great team, and we put a lot of heart and commitment into what we do!", says the host. In 2015, Christian Maelzer and his team opened the first three chalets, and in the summer and autumn of 2017, the 22 vacation apartments were completely renovated in a modern alpine style with the highest level of comfort and coziness.
